Yay to being a dad! Happy days to all of those who are.... and hopefully all those who HAVE dad's spoilt them rotten.
So the weekend actually started off with Iain's birthday on Friday night at the local pub/club thingy. My cuz Kyle came thru, and together we drove thru to fetch Craig who is currently without a set of wheels. After showering and making ourselves pretty for the night, we had to collect Iain - who is also without wheels, having trashed his car during the week "trying to avoid a homeless person". Methinks trying to avoid pink elephants on the way home from the pub actually.
Anyways, we met up with Wesley and some other friends at the club. Wes and I were planning on a slow drinking night, having imbibed a bit too much on Wednesday for no reason whatsoever. He managed to stick to his resolve, but alas I never had the willpower. Especially after J started buying Jaeger Bombs.....
But the point of all this is, is that I had the BEST night I have had in ages! The band was excellent, and at some point, they invited some random guy in the crowd to come and do some beatbox stuff. To say he was awesome is the understatement of the year!
Craig at some point said that do I realize that we are going to be famous pretty soon, so I said to him "We are already famous!". So many people came up to us to chat. Not that they knew us, but we were having such a good time. When him and I are together, we laugh so much it's infectious. And if you act like you famous, people think you are haha! Some strange things happened. My other cuz Gav was also in the club, and usually he is a little cool with me, but on Friday, he was all chatty like, for more than an hour. He admitted to me that when he was in school, a picture I drew for him impressed him so much, he handed it in as an art project, claiming it to be his own, and scored top of his class haha! I think it has been bothering him for years. His (fucking hot) friend of Eastern European origin, questionable sexuality and famed aloofness even spent time chatting to me....
Wes was wearing his hot skinny jeans, and I could not help touching them the whole night, much to his delight I might add. It's not like he needs a pair of skinnies to make his cock look bigger.... Um... yeah, some huge guy lifted Craig and I off the ground and carried us around for a bit.
Got home at around 4am. Craig and I were up again at 7am to take my car to the mechanic to have a new waterpump fitted. Then to my mom's place to let an old friend of my (ex) mom-in-law in to collect some tiles I just never got around to using. His son was with. (omg omg omg) I hadn't seen him since he was a skinny barman at 17. Now he is a beautiful young man of about 25 I guess, but about to get married alas.....
Back to my place to wake Kyle and make some hangover rescue breakfast. Back to the mechanic only to discover they were waiting for a part, so my baby had to stay there for the weekend. Borrowed my Aunt's car to take Craig home. Drove back and collected the girls.
We had been invited to a friends dance studio where they were having a party and a wine auction, but I decided to make curry - something I haven't taken the time to do in a long time.
Bed by nine - the girls stayed up to finish whatever movie they were watching. I tried to read, but couldn't get past three pages out of exhaustion. Apparently I was snoring and chatting in my sleep most of the night - something I only do if I am flat out exhausted.
So I was showered with gifts of new winter PJ's and slippers from the girls in the morning. I guess they're tired of me wandering around naked complaining about how cold it is. Then they made breakfast for us, and we basically lay around the whole day, reading, telling stories, watching a bit of TV.
This morning, took a leisurely stroll into town to fetch my car, and ended up getting there too early, so I wandered around the old part of town, reminiscing about how it once looked, remembering how Craig and I went to see Alien when we were twelve, and how we hid behind the seats, terrified as hell. The old cinema is a homeless shelter now, and a whole bunch of shops occupy what was once the bus depot. Everything happens at giant malls these days. The centre of town is just car spares shops, new and used car dealerships, indian shops, cheap furniture stores, pawn shops, porn shops...
And I am stressing about paying bills at the end of July.....
So tonight, had a beer with Wes, who had a crappy day at work. My mom joined us as she just got home last night after a ten day holiday at my oldest brother's farm and mansion at the coast lol..... Told me how they all gossiped about where I am taking my life at the moment. I guess they just care. I laughed cos I knew they would lol. Ye olde blacke (pink) sheep of the family I am.
And a few good msn's tonight for a change. (Thnks Dr; Goleft; and Peter)....
Time to start reading the sequel and turn in before I become absorbed in the crappy movie on TV.
omg that was a looong post.......
