thanks for that Sethy. i've saved the instructions and tried it out once, but i think i chose the wrong subject coz it didn't turn out very well. i'll try it again soon when i've got a bit more time.
this is a cool effect sethy, it works really well. if you used photoshop, would you mind letting me know what filters you used please?

Sure Torchy!
ReplyDeleteWhat's cool about this is that even if the image is small and low quality, it still looks good.
3 Basic steps.
1. Crop accordingly, then increase image size to say at least 2000 pix on the shortest side if u intend printing later. Don't fret about pixelasation.
2. Apply Cutout filter (in artistic). Leave Edge fidelity at 0, and play with other two sliders.
3. Apply Poster edges, play with edge thickness.
You can then play with the levels to get some contrast, and perhaps increase the saturation for more colour depth.
On the Abs one, I also applied a Diffuse Glow, introducing some grain and softness...
Actually a very easy process, and fun!
Post a couple so we can see...
Sethy..
Have fun (I use CS by the way).
